MyGov is organising Essay Writing Contest on New Criminal Laws for the year 2024. The last date of submission is July 18.

About the Contest

Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) under Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with MyGov is organizing an online essay writing contest in an effort to publicize and enable a better understanding of the following three laws among the youth and masses.

  • Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023
  • Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
  • Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023

Topics

The essay contest may be undertaken on the following topics –

  • “The evolution of Criminal Laws: Adapting to Modern Challenges”
  • “Balancing Justice and Liberty: Assessing the Impacts of New Criminal Laws”
  • “The Role of Technology in Shaping Contemporary Criminal Laws”
  • “Exploring the Impact of Mandatory Minimum Sentences in New Criminal Laws”
  • “Tackling Cyber crime: Evaluating the Effectiveness of New Legal Frameworks
  • “Human Rights and New Criminal Laws: Striking a Balance in a Changing World”
  • “New Criminal Laws 2023- in context to the safety of women and children”

The essays should meet the word limit of 1000 words and should be in a pdf format.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to Indian citizens.

Fee

There is no entry fee to participate in the contest.

Interested candidates can submit entries via the link given at the end of the post.

Prizes

The prize money will be given as under –

  • 1st prize – ₹10,000 /-
  • 2nd prize – ₹7,000 /-
  • 3rd prize – ₹5,000 /-
  • 7 Consolation prizes – ₹1,000 /- each
